Direct Laryngoscopy

Direct laryngoscopy is a surgical procedure that allows doctors to examine the inside of the larynx (voice box) directly. It is typically used to diagnose and treat a variety of conditions, including:

• Hoarseness that does not improve with other treatments
• Vocal cord nodules or polyps
• Growths or tumors in the larynx
• Difficulty swallowing
• Chronic laryngeal irritation
